Famighetti,Richard Rocco "Dick" of VA beach VA. He was born in Brooklyn in a house on Dean Street on May 16 1925, son of Francis ( Molaro) and Mariano. He lived in Brooklyn during the great depression until he went and served our country during WWII. He served as a corporal in the US Army (AAA133). He has always been a proud patriot and was very involved in supporting our wounded warriors.

He was very involved with the community, he was a parishioner at St Killian's Church, he worked as a postman in USPO Farmingdale and as a second job several grocery stores on Main St. He was known and loved by many "in Town." He served his community by volunteering with the EFFD. He was Ex Captain of fire police and lifetime member. He was proud and honored to be part of the brotherhood of firefighters.
His Wife Margaret predeceased him by 8 years. He called her "Peg O my Heart" He missed and loved her dearly. He also was predeceased by his beautiful daughter Patrice "Patti" along with his sister Lucille, brother in law Tom John, and Dave. All his 'Aunties",,his mom and dad and so many dear friends.
He is survived by his children Richard, Jo Ann, Thomas(Laura), James.,10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, sister in law Gail many nieces and nephews, many cousins ( he was the patriarch of his family) also many special friends in NY and Va.Beach.
He held a special bond with his grandson Michael who cared for him during his last months on earth. He also had a special bond with his niece Valerie, his dear friends Susan, Linda, and Dave, along with all his neighbors who watched over him in his final years in his Virginia Beach home. He had a close bond with the DeVito family who helped and comforted him esp in his final days.
Richard was a kind, loving, loyal man. Family and friends meant everything to him. He left a smile in the hearts of everyone he met. He had a rich full life and will be missed dearly by so many. Those who knew him were truly blessed.
Though a man of modest means he gave so generously to those in need and to many charities. St Jude Children Hospital and Wounded Warriors were on the top of his list.
